COVID-19 Safety Plan

Smugglers Trail Caskworks understands the impact that COVID-19 has had on the service industry, and herein lie the steps we are taking in our front of house to mitigate the spread, both for our customers and for our staff on-site.

What the Guest Can do:

  • Upon arrival of customers to Smugglers Trail, please sanitize hands and sign into a check-in sheet. This list will include a guest’s name, a contact phone number, and their party size. This is to ensure that proper tracking of any possible breakout can be recorded. These daily sheets will be filed appropriately.
  • Guests must be made aware of social distancing (two meters of distance when standing, sanitizing/washing hands when necessary, not moving tables from their locations, and to not congregate in high traffic areas)
  • On top of social distancing, we have put in the appropriate barriers where they would come into contact with staff to ensure their safety.  “Stand here” stickers are also affixed to the floor.
  • Guests are asked to wear a mask while they walk about the room (on entrance/exit and any trips to the merchandise or washroom areas). This is now mandatory in all public indoor spaces across BC.
  • Any guests participating in a brewery tour must wear a mask and this groups will be limited to 6 people in size.
  • Payment – while cash transactions will still be accepted when needed, we will strongly encourage all guests to pay with cards.
  • Understand the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 as described below.
  • Not visit Smugglers Trial if they are experiencing any COVID symptoms or have travelled outside Canada 2 weeks prior to the visit here.

What we will do:

  • Staff will be cognizant of their own health before starting work with Smugglers Trail.
  • Proper PPE will be  used when appropriate.
  • Staff will be provided with effective chemicals to fight COVID-19 that have been approved by the PHO for use against the coronavirus.
  • Staff will regularly take care of periodic sanitization of all high traffic and high touch areas.
  • Staff will also maintain seating with barriers and a socially distant seating plan.
  • Waiting list guests will be asked to remain outside or in their vehicles, or appropriately distanced; our staff will call you when your table is ready.
  • Any guests participating in a brewery tour must wear a mask and this groups will be limited to 6 people in size.

 

 

Understanding the Symptoms of COVID-19

The novel coronavirus has many symptoms that can vary widely in severity. Staff must not only be cognisant of themselves, but of symptoms that customers might be showing. Listed below are the symptoms of COVID-19.

Disinfecting and Sanitizing

  • At Smugglers Trail we are using the following EcoLab products for cleaning and sanitizing, both for general cleanliness and to ensure the proper sanitization to fight COVID-19: PRODUCTS AND INFORMATION ON THEM TO GO HERE, AS PROVIDED BY ECOLABS REP.
  • Other tools supplied: facemasks, gloves, spray bottles, one-use hand towels supplied by Cintas.

 

Sanitizing Schedules and Checklists

  • This will be provided for the following areas: high traffic areas (door handles, chairs, tables, countertops, packaged product cooler, and any other areas that customers will be coming into contact regularly).
